This week I'm feeling into empowerment on a personal and professional level.
We all talk a big game about empowering our teams and inspiring personal growth - but what does that actually mean? Like in a practical, how exactly do I execute that sort of way?
Here's a couple components of empowerment that might help put a pin in the details:
- Feeling comfortable to make a decision - what do your team members need to feel comfortable in this role? Clarity on where the boundaries are? Awareness of where they get stuck? A budget? Try asking them what gets in the way and troubleshoot some strategies together.
- Taking ownership of a project or task as their own - what are the behaviors that you associate with taking ownership of something? Are your team members aware of your hopes around this? How can you create more clarity for them so they have the best chance of success?
What other elements of empowerment can you think of? How might you create the fertile ground for your team to step into them this week?
